SARAH PLANK

Sarah Plank was born in 1727 in Thompson, Windham County, Connecticut.  She was christened on 31 March 1728.  Sarah married John Jacobs on 24 January 1751 in Thompson New Haven Second Church, Thompson, Windham County, Connecticut.  John was born on 29 May 1725 in Thompson, Windham County, Connecticut.  Sarah died in June 1789 and on her gravestone it reads died at the age of 63.  John 3 March 1820 in Thompson, Windham County, Connecticut. They are both buried in the Old East Thompson Cemetery, Thompson, Windham County, Connecticut.

 

Sarah and John had the following children:

1.  Jesse Jacobs baptized 23 November 1752.  He married Louise Martin.  Jesse died in March 1842.

2.  John Jacobs baptized 12 September 1754.

3.  Jerusha Jacobs was baptized 17 September 1756.

4.  Asa Jacobs was born 18 April 1758 and married Sarah Emerson.

5.  Mercy (Martha) Jacobs was baptized on 26 April 1760 and married Israel Tourtellot. Martha died on 9 July 1842 and Israel died on 5 March 1846.  They are both buried in the Old East Thompson Cemetery, Thompson, Windham County, Connecticut.

6.  Abel Jacobs was born on 11 April 1762 and died on the 19 October 1832. He is buried in the Old East Thompson Cemetery, Thompson, Windham County, Connecticut.

7.  Sarah Jacobs was baptized 10 February 1764 and married first, Alex Mason then, secondly, to Joseph Chaplin.

8.  Amasa Jacobs was born in 1766 and was married to Eunice Joslin.  Amasa died on the 12 June 1837.

John Jacobs, farmer of Thompson, Windom County, Connecticut was active in town affairs and held several of the local offices.  In the Revollutionary War, he as on the Continental Frigate Confederacy.
