WILLIAM PLANK

William Plank was christened on 31 March 1728 in First Church of Killingly, Connecticut.  He married Bathsheba Raymond, daughter of James and Elizabeth Fuller Raymond.  Bathsheba was born on 18 February 1731 in Middleboro, Massachusets.  William died 4 July 1792 in Pompret, Windham County, Connecticut; he is buried in the Old Abington Cemetery, Windham County, Connecticut.  Bathsheba died approximately in 1821 at Wolcott, Wayne County, New York.

 

William and Bathsheba's children were:

1.  Zebediah Plank was born on 23 October 1758.

2.  Mole/Molle/Molly Plank was born 12 June 1762.  Molly married Tayler(Dyer) Reed on 11 July 1799 in Church of Paris, Paris, Oneida County,  New York by Rev. Eliphalet Steel.

3.  Hannah Plank was born in 1765.  She married Josiah Greenwood.

4.  Triplet - Elijah Plank was born 8 January 1767.

5.  Triplet - Elisha Plank was born 8 January 1767.

6.  Triplet - Elizabeth was born 8 January 1767.

Bathsheba and William Plank's children, Hannah, Elijah, Elisha and  Elizabeth were baptized on April 17, 1768 at the First Congregational Church, Thompson, Connecticut. Bathsheba moved to Sangerfield, New York with her son Elisha after her husband, William died.  Bathsheba lived to ninety years old and died at her daughter's home, Molly (Mary) Reed near Wolcott, Wayne County,  New York.

 

INFORMATION FROM THE BOOK "MAYFLOWER FAMILIES THROUGH FIVE GENERATIONS - VOLUME TEN THE FAMILY OF SAMUEL FULLER", page 48,:
BATHSHEBA RAYMOND {5} (Elizabeth {4} Fuller, Samuel {3-2-1-} )b. Middleboro 18 February 1731/2; living 4 February 1793; said to have died at the home of her daughter Molly or Polly Reed aged ninety years.  She married Pomfret CT 22 December 1757 William Plank, bp. Killingly, Ct 31 March 1728; d. Pomfret CT 4 July 1792 in 65th yr.; son of Robert and Hannah (Cooper) Plank.  On 17 April 1768 Hannah, Elijah, Elisha and Elizabeth Plank were baptized at the Thompson CT church.  The will of William Plank dated 19 May 1792, proved 2 October 1792, names wife Bathsheba; youngest son Elisha, daus. Molly, Hannah and Elizabeth Plank; son Zebediah.  Elisha Plank of "Whitetown" (Whitestown, Oneida Co. NY) on 26 August 1792 renounced his executorship in favor of Ephraim Winter.  On 4 February 1793 Zebediah, Elisha, Hannah and Elizabeth Plank, all of Pomfret, heirs of William Plank sold their father's land in Pomfret to John Sharpe.  On the same day widow Bathsheba Plank sold John Sharpe a life lease on the same property.

WILLIAM PLANK'S WILL- Pre-Revolutionary War Will

 

On 25 May 1770, ack. 19 January 1771, James Raymond of Thompson, yeoman, sold (or deeded) 45 acres to William Plank of Killingly, yeoman. William Plank died in his 65th year.  The will of William Plank dated 19 May 1792, proved 2 October 1792, names wife Bathsheba; youngest son Elisha; daughters Molly, Hannah and Elizabeth; son Zebediah. Elisha Plank of "Whitestown" (Whitestown, Oneida County, New York) on August 1792 renounced his executorship in favor of Ephraim Winter.  On 4 February 1793 Zebediah, Elisha, Molly, Hannah and Elizabeth Plank, all of Pomfret, heirs of William Plank sold their father's land in Pomfret to John Sharpe.  On the same day widow Bathsheba Plank sold John Sharpe a life lease on the same property.

THE LAST WILL AND TESTAMENT OF WILLIAM PLANK - VOLUME 7 - PAGE 327 - MAY 19, 1792 --  In the Name of God Amen --  I WILLIAM PLANK of Pomfret in the County of Windham and Colony of Connecticut in New England Yeoman being in a decling state of health as to my body but having a sound mind and memory thanks be to God yet calling to mind my mortality and continual liablings to death and my duty to set my house in order before I go hence do make and ordain this to be my Last Will and Testament above all I recommend my Soul to the mercy of God hoping through the merits of the grist     to obtain the    of my Sins and an inheritance with the Saints in light and my body I commit to the earth to be decently interred at the discretion of Executor hereafter named and after my honest debts and funeral charges are discharges and paid I dispose of the Worldly Estate which God Hath been pleased give me, in the following manner -- Imprimes, I give to my beloved wife BATHSHEBA PLANK one third of all my lands and buildings for her to have and hold peaceably as long as she remains my Widow and at her death or marriage said thirds to be equally divided among my children. Also, I give to the said BATHSHEBA one third of all my household goods to be her own property and the rest of my households goods is to be equally divided among my Daughters - also I give to my beloved Wife, BATHSHEBA PLANK one good Cow to be paid in one year, after, my decease said Cow is to be said BATHSHEBA property for forever --  ITEM  I give to my Daughter, MOLLY PLANK Ten Pounds lawful money to be paid in one year after my decease -- ITEM  I give to my Daughter, HANNAH PLANK Ten Pounds lawful money to be paid in one year after my decease  --  ITEM  I give to my Daughter ELISABETH Ten Pounds lawful money to be paid in one year, after my decease  --  ITEM,  I give to my Two Sons ZEBEDIAH PLANK and ELISHA PLANK two thirds of all my lands and buildings which are to be equally divided between them  --ITEM  I give to my Two Sons ZEBEDIAH PLANK AND ELISHA PLANK all my Stock and Farming Tools to be equally divided between them  --  And my Will is that my two Sons ZEBEDIAH PLANK AND ELISHA PLANK shall pay an equal part of my honest debts and funeral charges and the above       , and do appoint my Son Elisha Plank to be the sole Executor, of this my Last Will and Testament and I WILLIAM PLANK do revoke disannul all other Wills whatsoever, heretofore made by one and declare this to be my Last Will and Testament  --  WILLIAM PLANK  (SS)  Signed Sealed Published and declared to be the Last Will and Testament of WILLIAM PLANK by signed WM.Plank this 10 day of May 1792 in presence of JONATHAN HOLMES, SILAS RICKARD JUN., EUNICE HYDE  --  Windham, Pomfret September 13, 1792  --  Then personally appeared JONATHAN HOLMES, SILAS RICKARD JUN., EUNICE HYDE, Witnesses to the within Will and made solem oath that they severally saw and heard Mr. Wm. PLANK the Testator, Sign, Seal, Publish and Declare the within Will to be and contain his Last Will and Testament and that they severally judged him to be of sound disposing mind and memory and set their names thereto as Witnesses in presence of the Testator and of each other.  Sworn before me Limuel Ingals Justice of the Peace.  At a Probate Court     at Pomfret in the District of Pomfret on the 2nd day of October 1792 present THOMAS GROSVENOR Esq. Judge then the foregoing WILL OF MR. WILLIAM PLANK late of Pomfret deceased was presented by MR. EPHRAIM WINTER, Administrators on the Estate of said deceased with the Will annexed and the fame being proved is by this Court approved allowed of and by the Judge ordered to be recorded and kept on file and personally appeared MRS. BATHSHEBA PLANK WIDOW and Relut    and having     to accept the use of the real estate as given her in the Will during her Widowhood, moves to have her   set out according to Law which is granted  --  Test Lemuel Grosvenor, Clerk of Probate  -  A true record by Lemuel Grosvenor, Clerk of Probate.   INVENTORY OF WILLIAM PLANK September 28, 1792  --  A true and perfect Inventory errors accepted of the Estate of William Plank late of Pomfret deceased --
