FREEMAN RIGG

Freeman Rigg was born 2 March 1849 in Richfield Township, Henry County, Ohio.  He died 24 February 1906 in Lincoln Township, Standish, Michigan.

Freeman was in the Civil War and served with Company K 185th Ohio Infantry.  In 1900 Freeman and his family lived in Palmer Township, Putnam County, Ohio - 5 children.

Freeman married Elizabeth Fulk/Falk, daughter of Martin Fulk/Falk and Elizabeth Morris.  Elizabeth Fulk/Falk Rigg was born 22 May 1857 in Ohio.  She died 25 May 1927 in Lincoln Township, Standish, Arenac County, Michigan and was buried May 1927 in Woodmere Cemetery, Standish, Arenac County, Michigan.

Freeman and Elizabeth had the following children:

1.   Clara Belle Rigg was born 8 November 1875 and died 9 January 1934.

2.   Charles Arthur Rigg "Arthur" was born 27 June 1877 and died in 1951.

3.   Francis Eugene Rigg "Eugene" was born 2 May 1880 and died 23 January 1951.

4.   Thornton Elmer Rigg "Elmer" was born 23 September 1883 and died 3 December 1960.

5.   Martin Olaf Rigg was born 2 April 1886.

1.  Clara Belle Rigg was born 8 November 1875 in Ohio and died 9 January 1934 in Midland, Midland County, Michigan.  Clara married Calvin Ervin Moore.  Calvin died 15 January 1931.

Clara Belle and Calving Moore had the following children:

a.   Grace M. Moore was born 5 January 1894 and died 6 June 1984.

b.   Nellie V. Moore was born 28 March 1896 and died 8 January 1992.

c.   Goldie Leona Moore was born 11 September 1899 and died 15 August 1965.

d.   Margie Mable Moore was born 17 July 1901 and died 7 June 1998.

e.   Myrtle M. Moore was born 17 March 1904 and died 19 December 1980.

f.    Ethel Elizabeth Moore was born 2 May 1906 and died 24 January 1995.

g.   Okal Orie Moore was born 23 September 1908 and died 28 December 1909.

h.   Maggie E. Moore was born 3 December 1910 and died 30 April 1992.

i.    Doris Evelyn Moore was born 21 April 1913.

j.    Lloyd Moore was born 2 July 1915.

k.   Roy A. Moore was born 22 January 1919 and died 11 August 1923.

l.    Oliver Moore was born 22 April 1921.

2.  Charles "Arthur" was born about 1877 and died 1951 and is buried Woodmere Cemetery, Standish, Michigan.  Arthur was  never married.

3.  Francis "Eugene" Rigg was born on 02 May 1880 in North Creek, Ohio and died 23 January 1951 in Lincoln Township, Arenac County, Standish, Michigan. and is buried in Woodmere Cemetery, Lincoln Township, Standish, Michigan.   Eugene married Annabelle Wright, daughter of George and Margaret McCullogh Wright, on 31 December 1913 in Standish, Areanc County, Michigan.  Annabelle was born 22 January 1884 in Bridgehamton, Michigan.  She died 13 June 1964 in AuGres, Michigan and was buried in Woodmere Cemetery, Lincoln Township, Standish, Michigan.

Eugene and Annabelle had the following children:

a.  Freeman George Rigg  was born 11 November 1914 in Lincoln Township, Standish, Michigan and died 8 April 1982 in Standish Community Hospital, Standish, Michigan.  Freeman George married Selma Katherine Martha Hartman on 6 July 1940 in Wood County, Ohio,  she was the daughter of William and Mary Schwab Hartman.  Selma was born 30 May 1918 in Lincoln Township, Standish, Michigan and died 31 August at the Greenbriar Nursing Home, Sterling, Michigan.  Freeman and George had the following children:  Eugene Rigg, Diane Rigg, Deborah Rigg, Ann Rigg and Dale Rigg. 

b.  Oliver F. Rigg was born 26 September 1916 and died 20 March 1995.

c.  Roy Martin Rigg was born 23 October 1920 and died in 1920.

4.  Thornton "Elmer" Rigg was born 23 September 1883 in Putnam County, Ohio and died 3 December 1960 in Bay City, Michigan.  Elmer was buried in Bay City Floral Gardens Cemetery, Bay City, Michigan Elmer married Grace M. Etchinson about 1908 in Michigan,  she is the daughter of John and Alice Etchinson.  Grace was born 8 June 1891 in Auburn, Michigan and died 19 August 1971 in Bay City. Michigan and is buried in Bay City Floral Gardens Cemetery, Bay City, Michigan.

Elmer and Grace had the following children:

a.  John F. Rigg was born 28 July 1909 in Arenac County, Michigan.  John married Esther and had the following children:  John A. Rigg, and Alan E. Rigg.

b.  Alvin E. Rigg was born 24 October 1911 in Arenac County, Michigan and died 17 August 1994 in Tawas City, Iosco County, Michigan and is buried in Elm Lawn Cemetery, Bay City, Michigan.  Alvin married Anne and had the following children:  Alvin E. Rigg, Jr., and Jerry Rigg.

c.  Howard E. Rigg was born 8 May 1914 in Arenac County, Michigan  and died May 1968 in Bay City, Michigan and is buried in Bay City Floral Garden Cemetery.  Howard married Audrey A. and had the following children:  Howard E. Rigg Jr., Beverly Rigg and Shirley Rigg.

d.  Clayton E. Rigg was born 14 April 1917 in Arenac County, Michigan  and died 11 June 1992 in Bay City, Michigan and is buried at Elm Lawn Cemetery, Bay City, Michigan.  Clayton married Emma M. Klopp and had the following children:  Nancy Rigg, Roger Rigg, Ronald Rigg, Robert Rigg, and Richard Rigg.

5.  Martin Olaf Rigg was born about 1884 in Ohio.  Martin  married Margaret Maggie Etchinson, daughter of John and Alice Emery Etchinson, on 25 December 1907 in Worth, Arenac County, Michigan by D.H. Campbell, Pastor.  Maggie was born 7 October 1887.  Maggie was born 7 October 1887  died 9 November 1956 in Pinconning Township, Bay County, Michigan and was buried in Gibson Township Cemetery, Bentley, Michigan.

Martin and Maggie had the following child:

a.  Bertha S. Rigg was born 1910 in Michigan and died 21 August 1992 and is buried in the Gibson Township Cemetery, Bentley, Michigan.  Bertha married a gentlemen named Finch.
