Anna Johanna Mathilda Rohde (Karl Friedrich, Wilhelm Rohde) was born 7 August 1904 in Richland Township, Saginaw County, Michigan and was christened 4 September 1904 in St. Peter's Evangelical Lutheran Church, Richland Township, Hemlock, Saginaw County, Michigan.  She died 13 March 2001 and was buried in Richland Lutheran Cemetery, Hemlock, Saginaw County, Michigan.

 

Anna's sponsors for her baptism were Friedrich Witt, Mrs. Fr. Hinske, Mrs. Albert Stenzel.  Anna was confirmed at St. Peter's Evangical Lutheran Church, Hemlock, Michigan and her Confirmation Bible Verses were Psalms 51 V's. 12 & 13.

Anna married Bert Loring Tilden, son of George L. and Mary L. Pangborn Tilden.  Bert was born 18 July 1898 in Richland Township, Saginaw County, Michigan.  He died 5 May 1971 in Bay City, Bay County, Michigan.

 

Anna and Bert's attendants for their marriage were Hattie Pretzer, Herman Diener, Martha Hinske, Fred Rohde and Doris Stenzel.

 

Anna and Bert had the following children:

1.   Lorraine Beryl Tilden was born 16 July 1924 in Ingersol Township, Midland County, Michigan and was christened 27 August 1924 in St. Peter's Evangelical Lutheran Church, Richland Township, Hemlock, Saginaw County, Michigan.  She died 26 February 1925 and was buried 28 February 1925.  Lorraine's sponsors for her baptism were William Rohde and Anna Rohde.  Lorraine was 7 months and ten days old when she died.

3.   Frances Tilden 

4.   Bonnie Tilden was born 20 July 1929 in Midland County, Michigan and died on 11 September  2015 in Hemlock, Michigan.

5.   Loring Tilden was born 6  December  1931 in Midland County, Michigan and died on 30 March 2010, Alliance, Nebraska.

Gerry Tilden Kruth

 

 

2.  Geraldine Tilden "Gerry" was christened 2 August 1926 in St. Peter's Evangelical Lutheran Church, Richland Township, Hemlock, Saginaw County, Michigan.  Her sponsors for her baptism were Esther Rohde, Adolph Pretzer and Albert Rohde.

Gerry was married to Verne H. Kruth on June 29,  1945/1946

 

Gerry and Verne had the following children:

1.   Marie Kruth

2.   Marlene Kruth

 

Verne was born on 18 October 1918 in Richland Township, Hemlock, Saginaw County, Michigan and  died 10 March 1991 in Hemlock, Saginaw County, Michigan and was buried in Richland Lutheran Cemetery, Hemlock, Saginaw County, Michigan.

3.  Frances "Fran" Tilden married  Melvin Watters. 

 

They had the following children:

1.  Patricia Watters

2.  Sandy Watters

3.  Michael Watters

4.  Timm Watters

5.  Catherine 

6.  Joann

 

 

Fran was also married to Thomas Neville.

 Frances worked as a supervisor at Michigan Bell and for Consumers Power in Saginaw, Michigan and then ater moving to Bad Axe, she worked as a Personnel Assistant for Huron Memorial Hospital.  She was a long time member of Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Saginaw, Michigan and a member of Our Savior Lutheran Church in Bad Axe, Michigan.  She participated in many church activities.  Frances loved to sew and embroider.

Frances especially loved her husband, Thomas.

 

Frances passes away on 20 December 2017 in Verona Township, Bad Axe, Michigan and is buried in Richland Lutheran Cemetery, Hemlock, Saginaw County, Michigan.

 

4.  Bonnie Jean Tilden was born on 20 July  1929 in Midland County, Michigan.  Bonnie Tilden married Carl Leon Wardin on February 26, 1949.  Carl was born 27 May 1923 in Richland Township, Saginaw County, Michigan, his parents were Albert  and Lenora Dietrich Wardin. 

 

 

Together Carl and Bonnie raised seven children.  After Carl was struck by polio in 1953,  she cared for him until his passing in 1986 with such dedication and diligence that the doctors and nurses marveled at his excellent condtion.  From 1969 until her retirement, she was a school bus diver first for Hemlock Schools in Hemlock, Michigan and later for the Millet Center in Saginaw, Michigan.  As a member of St. Peter Lutheran Church, in Hemlock, Michgian, she lived her faith in love, generosity of spirit and forgiveness.  She contributed regularly to over thirty charities, willing to share the abundance she felt in her life.  Generous with her time and attention to her children and grandchildren, she was always ready to provide transportation or babysit even in her 80's.  She was "Cookie Grandma" to great-nephews and great-nieces who were often at her door for a quick hello and a cookie.  She loved spending time with friends and family, playing cards and visiting at her sister's cottage in AuGres, Michigan.  At home she could often be found reading, engrossed in a book until the wee hours of the morning.  Her greatest joy, though, was watching the achievements and successes of her children to whom she was greatly dedicated.  She felt truly blessed with her family.

 

Carl was a lifelong resident of Hemlock, Michigan and had served in the United States Army.  He was a member of St. Peter Lutheran Church, its men's club and the Hemlock-Merrill V.F.W. Post #7302.

 

Bonnie and Carl had the following children:

4.   Paula Wardin

5.   Donna Wardin

6.   Brenda Wardin

7.   Bill Wardin

 

 Carl died 8 February 1986 in Richland Township, Hemlock, Michigan and Bonnie died on 11 September 2015 in Richland Township, Hemlock, Michigan.  They are both buried in the Richland Lutheran Cemetery, Hemlock, Saginaw County, Michigan.

5.  Loring Carl "Larry"  Tilden was born 6 December 1931 in Midland County, Michigan.  Loring enlisted in the Navy 29 December 1950 and was released on 26 October 1954.  He died on 30 March 1910 in Alliance, Box Butt, Nebraska.

 

Nebraska obituary archives states the following:  Loring Tilden age 78 died Tuesday, 30 March 2010 at Fort Meade, South Dakota.  A memorial service was held at 5p.m. on Friday, 2 April 2010 at Indian Mission Church.
