MINNIE ESTHER BUCHHOLZ

Minnie Esther Buchholz  (Heinrich Carl Theodore Johann Buchholz, (Martin) Johann Wilhelm Buchholz, Martin Jochim Heinrich Buchholtz, Franz Christian Buchholtz) was born 30 October 1905.  She died 3 June 1981 in Piqua, Miami County, Ohio and was buried in Harris Creek Cemetery, Bradford, Miami County, Ohio.

Minnie married Floyd Francis Palsgrove, son of T. Frank and Nora L. Rawn Palsgrove, on 11 May 1922 in Miami County, Ohio.  Flooyd waas born 11 March 1903 in franklin County, Ohio.  He died 7 April 1972 in Piqua Memorial Hospital, Piqua, Miami County, Ohio and was buried in Harris Creek Cemetery, Bradford, Miami County, Ohio.

Minnie and Floyd had the following children:

1.  June Alice Palsgrovve was born 1 May 1923 and died 1 June 2007.

2.  Betty Eilene Palsgrove was born 13 September 1924 and died 6 August 1994.

3.  Waneta Jean Palsgrove was born 22 September 1926 and died 4 July 2009.

4.  Floyd Jr. Palsgrove was born 7 June 1928 and died 22 October 2003.

5.  Richard Lee Palsgrove was born 13 July 1935 and died 5 January 2001.

6.  Dale Francis Palsgrove was born 8 May 1937 and died 16 June 2003.

1.  June Alice Palsgrove was born 1 May 1923 in Piqua, Miami County, Ohio.  She died 1 June 2007 in Piqua, Miami County, Ohio and was buried 5 June 2007 in Harris Creek Cemetery, Bradford, Ohio.

June married Oran E. Cook on 1 February 1945 in Piqua, Miami County, Ohio.  Oran was born 21 February 1923 in Piqua, Miami County, Ohio.  He died 26 February 2007 in Piqua Manor, Piqua, Miami County, Ohio and was buried 1 March 2007 in Harris Creek Cemetery, Bradford, Miami County, Ohio.

June and Oran had the following child:

2.  Betty Eilene Palsgrove was born 13 September 1924 in Darke County, Ohio.  she died 6 August 1994 in Piqua, Miami County, Ohio and was buried in Forrest Hill Cemetery, Piqua, Miami County, Ohio.

Betty married William C. Trockenbrod, son of Clarence and Dorothy Lavey Trockenbrod, on 28 May 1943 in Bradford, Adams Township, Darke County, Ohio.  William was born 4 August 1921 in Dayton, Ohio.  He died 21 August 1995 in Piqua, Miami County, Ohio.

Betty and Bill had the following children:

b.  Martha Trockenbrod

3.  Waneta "Jean" Palsgrove was born 22 September 1926 in Bradford, Miami County, Ohio.  She died 4 July 2009 in Good Samaritan Hospital, Dayton, Montgomery County, Ohio and was buried 7 July 2009 in Harris Creek Cemetery, Bradford, Miami County, Ohio.

Jean married Edwin Selanders.  They had the following children:

a.  Mickel Selanders

b.  Marsha Selanders

c.  David Selanders

d.  Donald Selanders

e.  Douglas Selanders

Jean retired from Bradford Awards and had previously worked as a waitress at the Checkered Flag, Bradford, Ohio.  She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Bradford, Ohio and also a member of the Second Baptist Church, Piqua, Ohio.

4.  Floyd Jr. Palsgrove was born 7 June 1928 in Piqua, Miami County, Ohio.  He died 22 October 2003 in Sparta, Tennessee and was buried 25 October 2003 in Harris Creek Cemetery, Bradford, Miami County, Ohio.

Floyd married Laura Caroline Drennan.  They had the following children:

f.  Gregg Palsgrove

5.  Richard Lee Palsgrove was born 13 July 1935 in Piqua, Miami County, Ohio.  He died 5 January 2001 in Ocean Springs, Mississippi and was buried 12 January 2001 in Forest Hill Cemetery, Piqua, Miami County, Ohio.

Richard married Synthia Westfall.  They had the following children:

a.  Richard Palsgrove

b.  Sherry Palsgrove

c.  Robert Palsgrove

d.  Ronald Palsgrove

Richard was a 1954 graduate of Piqua High School, Piqua, Ohio.   He was a supervisor and a purchasing agent in the pattern shop, The French Oil Mill Machine Company. He was a skilled patternmaker by trade.   Richard also worked part time at R & R Design.  Richard and his wife, were very involved in community affairs. He was a President of both the Piqua Historical Society and the Southern Ohio Covered Bridge Associaton.   He served as  President and Secretary to the Piqua Lions Club, a two-time Melvin Jones Fellow, the organization's highest award.   Richard was also, a Diabetes Awareness Chairman, and Piqua Central High School Alumni Committee.     


6.  Dale Francis Palsgrove was born 8 May 1937 in Miami County, Ohio.  He died 16 June 2003 at his home in Piqua, Ohio and was buried 19 June 2003 in Forest Hill Cemetery, Piqua, Miami County, Ohio.

Dale married Rita Dickensheets.  They had the following children:

b.  Michael Palsgrove

c.  Gale Palsgrove

d.  Roger Palsgrove

Dale was a graduate of Piqua Central High School, Piqua, Ohio in 1955.  He worked as a Representative of both the Mutual of Omaha Insurance Company and Metropolitan Life Insurance Company, serving three years as manager at the Piqua, Ohio office. Dale was a machinist and forman at French Oil Mill and Machinery Company for 23 years.  He retired from Hartzell Propeller after six years of service.   He belonged to the Piqua Lions Club and the past president of Piqua Jaycees. He was a member of the Piqua Loyal Order of the Moose and was a member of St. Paul's United Church of Christ and it's Gold Band in Piqua, Ohio.  Dale and his wife were host parents to exchange students from other countries.
