GOLDIE BUCHOLZ

Goldie Bucholz was born 6 August 1900 in Darke County, Ohio.  She died 14 April 1945 in the War Memorial Hospital, Sault Saint Marie, Chippewa County, Michigan and was buried 18 April 1945 in Ford Cemetery, Elsie, Gratiot County, Michigan.

When Goldie died she was living in Strongs, Chippewa County, Michigan.  She was 43 years 8 months and 14 days old when she died of a Coronary Thrombosis.

Goldie married Lester Hammond on 26 September 1918 in Ithaca, Gratiot County, Michigan.  Lester was born 28 July 1897 in Hamilton Township, Gratiot County, Michigan. 

In 1920, Lester and Goldie were living Hamilton Township, Gratiot County Michigan. 

 

He died 14 December 1974 in Turlock, Stanislaus County, California and was buried 18 December 1974 in Lakewood Memorial Park, Hughson, Stanislaus County, California.

The photo is of Goldie (right) holding her son, Leonard Hammond. Goldie is pictured with her mother, Nettie and her son, John W. Bucholz. This would be Nettie's oldest child, Goldie and Nettie's youngest child, John.

Goldie and Lester had the following children:

1.   Wava I. Hammond was born 11 December 1919 died 8 August 2012.

2.   Bernard Lee Hammond was born 30 August 1921 and died 11 May 1980 in Ukiah, Mendocino, California.

3.   Viola Esther Hammond was born 10 September 1923 in Ashley, Gratiot County, Michigan  and died 29 May 2004 at Doctors Medical Ceneter, Modesto, Stanislaus County, California.

4.   Leonard Fay Hammond was born 13 November 1925 in Ashley, Gratiot County, Michigan and died 20 December 1997 in Modesto, Stanislaus County, California.

5.   Ellen/Elaine Hazel Hammond was born 10 December 1927 in Michigan and died 23 August 1980 in Falls City, Polk County, Oregon.

6.   Maxine Carol (twin) Hammond was born 2 Januar 1929 in Hamilton Township, Gratiot County, Michigan and died on 10 November 2007 in Modesto, Stanislaus County, California.

7.   Max Carl (twin) Hammond was born 2 January 1929 in Hamilton Township, Gratiot County, Michigan and died 27 August 2005 at the Alexander Cohen Hospice House, Hughson, Stanislaus County, California

8.   Betty Lou Hammond

9.   Shirley Mae Hammond was born 26 September 1933 in Marion Township. Saginaw County, Michigan and died on 1 January 2000 at the Memorial Medical Center, Modesto, Stanislaus County, California.

10.  Harold Dean Hammond was born December 29, 1934 in Marion Springs, Saginaw County, Michigan.  He died on February 21, 2009 in Sacramento, California.

11.  Ruth Marie Hammond

Wava and her husband Mancell Boyd with their eight children.

Wava I. Hammond was born on 11 December 1919 and died on 8 August 2012 and is buried in the Ridge Road Cemetery, Brady Center, Saginaw County, Michigan.

Wava married Mancell Lee Boyd Sr. on 12 August 1938 in Auburn, Indiana.  Mancell was born 18 November 1912 in Rodessa, Caddo County, Louisiana. and died on 11 September 1973 in Carson City, Montcalm County, Michigan and is buried at the Ridge Road Cemetery, Brady Center, Saginaw County, Michigan.

Wava and Mancell had the following children.

2.  Bernard Lee Hammond was born 30 August 1921 in Ashley, Gratiot County, Michigan.  He died 11 May 1980 in Ukiah,Mendocino County, California and is buried at the Hopland Cemetery, Hopland, Mendcino County, California.

 

Bernard married Viola Olson, they had the following children:

a.  Sandra Hammond

b.  David Lester Hammond was born 12 January 1950 and died 14 January 1950.

Bernard Hammond - Hoopland - Services for Bernard Lee Hammond, 58, will be Thursday at 1 p.m. at Hopland Cemetery. He died Sunday at a Ukiah, California hospital.

A native of Michigan, he was retired and lived in Hopland two years.  He was a veteran of WWII.

He is surived by his wife, Violet Hammond, Hopland, California; daughter, Sandra Young, Paso Robles, San Luis Obispo County, California; brothers, Leonard and Max Hammond, both of Modesto, California, and sisters, Wava Boyd, Michigan; Ellene Seabourn, Oregon, Viola Jones, Maxine Richards, both of Modesto, California; Betty Lou Butler, Betty Johnson, both of Nebraska and Shirley Robison and Ruth Young, both of Modesto, California.  

Also Surviving are his stepmother, Mae Hammond, Salida, California and five grandchildren.

4.   Leonard Fay Hammond was born 13 November 1925 in Ashley, Gratiot County, Michigan.  He died 20 December 1997 in Modesto, Stanislaus County, California.

 

Leonard was born in Michigan but when young moved to Arkansas then California with his family.   In the 1950's Leonard moved to Modesto, California and he lived there for 40 years before passing away in 1997.  He was owner of a swimming pool service and belonged to the Valley Christian Center in Modesto, California.

5.  Ellen/Elaine Hazel Hammond was born 10 December 1926/1927 in Michigan. She died on 23 August 1980 at Falls City, Polk County, Oregon and is buried in the Falls City Cemetery, Falls City, Polk County, Oregon.

 

Ellen/Elaine married Earl David Seabourn in April 1942 in Avondale, Arizona.  They had six children:

3.  Lonnie Lee Seabourn

4.  Janie/Jeannie Lou Seabourn

5.  Mary Jean Seabourn

Elaine Hazel Seabourn - Obituary

Falls City - Elaine Hazel Seabourn, 53, of 135 East St., died Saturday at hone.

She was born in Garison, Michigan and lived in Avondale, Arizona, before coming to Valley Junction in 1945. She came to Falls City in 1951.

She was employed by Truitt Brothers Canery,

Surviving are her husband, David Earl; sons, David Lester, Falls City, and Lonnie Lee, Monmouth, daughters, Hazel Jean Danielson, Portland, Mary Jean Kidd and Judy May Bault, Falls City, Jeannie Lou Moon, White City; brothers, Bernard, Leonard and Max Hammon, and sister, Maxine Hammon, all in California; 11 grandchildren and a great-granddaughter. 

Graveside services will be 2 p.m. tomorrow in the Falls City Cemetery, arrangements by Dallas mortuary.

6.  Maxine Carol Hammond (twin) was born on 2 January 1929 in Hamilton Township, Gratiot County, Michigan.  She died on 10 November 2007 in Modesto, Stanislaus County, Michigan.
